This book was first published several years ago, however due to persistent requests, reprinting has been done many times over.

Some sections of the book have been revised to enhance information relevant to franchising now. However the basic contents that address building knowledge on franchising are still part of this publication. The basic principles of the franchise relationship from its birth, with Matilda Harper having 500 franchised branches as early as 1888, remains the same. These same principles weave through the pages of this book from its first publication up to now.

Franchising is not one size that fits all, thus Franchisors, Franchisees and the Franchise Systems have to cope with adaptations to enable the Brand and System to attain desired market reach and brand value.
